Canadian International Minerals Inc. (CIM) owns a unencumbered 100% of 5 claims totaling 1,410 ha. located approximately 10 km SW of Princeton, B.C. and is in the prolific Copper Mountain mining camp. The property has excellent access and infrastructure is only a 3 hour drive from Vancouver.
The Copper Mountain camp is one of the premier copper, silver, gold porphyry camps in Canada, producing 1.42 billion pounds of copper, 8.5 million ounces of silver and 499.5 thousand ounces of gold between the years 1908 to 1996.
The Similkameen Copper mine (Similco) shut down in 1996 after an extended period of low copper prices. The CIM property directly adjoins the mine site to the west. The Similco Mine is currently undergoing an extensive development program by Copper Mountain Mining Corporation (CMC). A recently completed (July 28, 2008) positive feasibility study by Hatch Ltd. recommended putting the mine back into production at 35,000 tpd for 15 years. Approximately 44,000 meters of drilling was completed in 2007. Current 43-101 resources stand at 163,000,000 tonnes at 0.43% Cu indicated and 113,600,000 tonnes at 0.37% Cu inferred for a total of over 2.2 billion lbs of Cu.
The Ingerbell pit produced 234,784 ounces of gold, 957,531 ounces of silver and 345,307,343 pounds of copper from 1972 to 1979. CIM's claims are 1km from the pit rim. CIM is excited to have a land position one of the most advanced copper /gold projects in the world.
CIM will be doing a high density airborne EM-MAG survey with ground follow up and drilling.
